They are used to prevent adhesion of unwanted spatter, to prevent adhesion of unwanted spatter to the torch or substrate, generated in welding processes,especially in CO, TIG and MIG welding.

These agents are helpful in reducing the unnecessary labor costs involved in removal of spatter and improving the finish of the welded article.

In spite of their excellent performance, Silicone based anti-spatter agents are not used where painting, printing, plating etc. are required to be done on the welded articles. In such cases Silicone Free preparations are desirable. The Anti-spatter Spray, Gels and Fluids are silicone free, non-flammable, non-toxic and do not generate smoke.

Product Details:

Afra® Anti-spatter Gel is a semi-solid, self-setting, non-toxic, non-fuming, wax based gel, containing a special thermally resistant polymer.

During specialized welding operations, it prevents accumulation of spatter on the nozzle and tip of the welding torches. It removes the need to spray the nozzle and welding torch tips with aerosol (flammable & pressurized) type anti-spatter agents.

Method of use

Afra® Anti- Spatter Fluid, Grade 3210 is generally used without dilution. The concentration may be required to be altered as per requirement. It is applied by spray, brush or swab onto the area where the spatter is expected to land and does not allow spatter to weld itself to the substrate. Dipping of the torch nozzle into the diluted liquid will also prevent build up of electrode. Packing Afra®, Anti- Spatter Fluid, Grade 3210 is available in 500g 5Kg, 35Kg & 200 Kg HDPE Carboys

Precaution during storage and use

Contents are non-flammable. The container should be kept away from sources of heat in tightly sealed condition.Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid excessive inhalation, eye or skin contact. Keep away from children. Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place below 50°C. The contents should be used with in twelve months from date of manufacture.

Afra Anti-spatter Spray, Grade 321 is a water-based, silicone free, release preparation which prevents adhesion of spatter on welding tools and parts. It is also a nozzle maintenance aid, which prevents accumulation of spatter on nozzles and tips of welding torches. Such build up of spatter can lead to poor gas coverage and result in poor welds. The regular use of Afra® Anti-spatter Spray, Grade 321 greatly improves weld quality and eliminates the need for chiseling and grinding activities on welded articles and substrates.

Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place below 50°C.The Cans should be used with in twelve months from date of manufacture. The Cans may perform normally even after extended storage beyond the 'best before date’ may affect the contents or the packaging components. Such can may be re-inspected and test run may be conducted to confirm acceptability.
