Afra® Heavy Duty Silicone Spray for Anti-spatter in Welding operations are Silicone in a solvent based aerosol preparation and are specifically designed for CO2., MIG, TIG, Argon Arc and similar welding operations. They prevent adhesion of weld-spatter to metal surfaces and allow easy removal. The use of anti-spatter spray prevents the need for mechanical abrasion or grinding of weld spatter from substrates. It also assures proper gas coverage which prevents pitting and porosity.

Suitable for ferrous and non ferrous metals- mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Special propellant gas with optimized propane-butane ratio and free from un-saturates. Non-flammable solvent reduces the flammability of the aerosol composition.Unique combination of ingredients and valve design enables a fine mist spray for optimized application on torches and substrates. Wide serviceable temperature of sprayed film, from -40 to 200°C, enables use on hot and cold substrates. Colorless and generally odorless in nature. Suitable for protecting both base metal and torch nozzle from spatter build-up.• Improves weld quality and assures proper gas coverage.LimitationsThis grade contains a chlorinated solvent which may have limited compatibility with certain plastic & rubber substrates. Direct spraying on certain plastic substrates may alter the surface appearance irreversibly.Articles molded with Silicone based mold release preparations may not be suitable for post molding operations such as painting, printing, plating, metallizing, gluing etc. Silicone that may have transferred to the molded article may prevent adhesion on the coating material to the article.

Application:
Afra® Heavy Duty Silicone Free Spray, Grade 999 & 9191 are designed for use as an Anti-spatter Agent in welding operations. They may also be used as a mold release agent for rubber, plastic, metal molding operations. They find use as a light lubricant for metal and plastic substrates in several home, medical, food, industrial and automotive applications but the compatibility of the substrate with the solvents contained in these grades may be determined prior to commercialization.

Application

Afra® Heavy Duty Silicone Spray, Grade 8084 is suitable for use as Mold Release Agent s for most injection molded plastics, metals, resins, waxes etc. It also rejuvenates rubber, plastic, synthetic leather and vinyl surfaces by hiding scratches and producing a high shine. It finds use as a Lubricant for metal and plastic substrates in several home, medical, food, industrial and automotive applications.

Precaution during storage and use

Contents are highly flammable.The cans should be kept away from sources of heat and ignition. Do not spray on flame or ignited materials. The Cans are pressurized and should not be punctured, incinerated or impacted. This may cause the can to burst violently.
Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid excessive inhalation, eye or skin contact. Keep away from children. Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place below 50°C.
The Cans should be used with in eighteen months from date of manufacture. Most Cans perform normally even after extended storage beyond the ‘best before date’ but the packaging components may disintegrate or corrode and subsequently affect contents. Such can may be re-inspected and trials may be conducted to confirm acceptability.

Information on Disposal of used Cans

Aerosol Cans are designed for single use only and are hazardous even when apparently empty. The cans must be completely evacuated by pressing the valve so that negligible gas remains inside and then must be punctured to release the remaining gas vapor. This shall render the can to be non-hazardous and fit for disposal as per local environmental norms.
